"Istanbullux opened last year in a show-stopping, contemporary construction. It is flanked by time-worn 19th-century townhouses, its concrete walls and façade made entirely of glass covered by a wooden slatted shell that acts like a giant Venetian blind in stark contrast to its neighbours. It gives you the best of both worlds – the freedom and space of an apartment, combined with breakfast, concierge services and airport transfers. You'll feel less like a hotel guest and more like the owner of a stylish pied-a-terre. And it's just a short walk from the restaurants and bars of buzzy Beyoglu and a tram ride from the must-see sights of Sultanahmet. The seven suites are spread over four levels, all with concrete floors and exposed metal, with splashes of colour, Asian artwork and rich fabrics. The large open-plan living area has two long sofas and a small kitchenette stocked with complimentary Nespresso coffee, tea and water. All the furniture comes from the owners' shop, Hic Design Store, and everything – from the sofas to the cushions – is available to buy. " From The Independent.

"Located in the trendy Galata neighborhood, Istanbullux Suites is the ultimate luxurious environment with the touch of the Hiç Crafts aesthetic, both owned by the same designer and her daughter. Offering seven separate suites that are each 80 square meters and either has two single or one king sized bed as well as a separate sitting room. The standard amenities include LCD TV with international channels, DVD player, iPod/iPhone/iPad dock, ensuite bathroom with rain shower, and a refrigerator with essentials, among other comfort inducers. Included is also a continental breakfast in the common area downstairs where goods from Hiç Crafts will also be on sale." From The Guide Istanbul.

"This building's award-winning facade invites guests into cool, contemporary interiors. Attentive staff deliver a highly personalised service including guided tours, reservations and recommendations. Start the day with a sumptuous breakfast in the lobby before setting out to explore Turkey's fascinating capital. Guests will feel at home in Hotel Istanbullux amid a fusion of design and hospitality. There are just seven deluxe suites that feature high-arched ceilings and rich wooden furnishings dressed in soft, opulent fabrics. Kitchenettes offer luxury living in the middle of the city, and should they wish, guests are given the opportunity to purchase some of the exquisite items that adorn the hotel." From Splendia.

"Sometimes a name just about says it all. The only way Istanbullux Suites could be more to the point is if they managed to squeeze it all into one word. Even as it is, it pretty much says it all — this is one for the visitors who love Istanbul for its upscale, contemporary, cosmopolitan side. The location is Galata, which is exactly where you’d expect to find something like Istanbullux Suites. But this is not the opportunism of some savvy developer — the minds behind are old Galata hands, and their long-established design shop, Hiç, has a satellite location just off Istanbullux’s lobby. The seven suites are residence-sized, thoughtfully (and livably) decorated, and slightly, charmingly, off-kilter in their floor plans — modern architecture and construction must make some compromises when moving into this ancient district. They’ve got everything you need for a stay of considerable length, up to and including kitchenettes and copious space for entertaining. There’s a Turkish/continental breakfast on the ground floor, but little more than that in the way of traditional hotel services. But you’re unlikely to feel neglected. Istanbullux makes up for its pared-down facilities with amped-up service, and a coterie of concierges who are knowledgeable, capable, and enthusiastic about sharing the best of their city. Life here can be as low-maintenance as you like it, but what you can’t take care of on your own, they’ll handle without breaking a sweat." From Tablet.com.
